Non-Traditional Apprenticeship Information for State Employees

Program Participation

An individual must meet the following requirements in order to participate in a non-traditional apprenticeship program:

  • Be a current California civil service employee with permanent, full-time, civil service status;
  • Work for a department participating in a non-traditional apprenticeship program;
  • Not have written discipline or unapproved dock within the last 12 months;
  • Not currently on probation, on a Training and Development assignment (T&D), or a limited term assignment;
  • Be eligible to participate in and able to perform the essential duties of the T&D assignment, with or without reasonable accommodation.​
