The California Department of Human Resources will host the 2017 CalHR Conference on June 13 and 14 in Sacramento.
As in years past, the conference is a great opportunity for the state's human resources professionals to learn more about HR regulations and best practices, seek answers to HR-related questions, and network with other HR practitioners. It also aims to provide fresh perspective and innovative ideas to help tackle the state's most pressing HR issues.
This year we will host a two-day conference, with more opportunities for state departments and their employees to attend the classes that they want. We have an exciting agenda, with presenters from both inside and outside state service, including the Keynote Addresses from Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg on June 13 and McKinsey & Company's Associate Partner, Andrew Mayock, on June 14.
Darrell Steinberg, Mayor, City of Sacramento
Darrell Steinberg is one of Sacramento’s most accomplished public servants, serving the Sacramento community for over 20 years. During his tenure in the legislature, Steinberg championed economic development, education reform, building sustainable communities and major investments in healthcare and education.
Andrew Mayock, Associate Partner, McKinsey & Company
Andrew Mayock is an Associate Partner in the Washington, D.C. office of global consulting firm McKinsey & Company. He previously served in the Obama Administration as Director for Management for the White House Office of Management and Budget, and as U.S. Chief Performance Officer, where his work focused on modernizing the federal government's civil service system.
