Office Assistant Exam Information
The Office Assistant (General) and (Typing) examination is administered on a continuous basis. Please check the examination bulletin for examination dates and locations. Seats are on a first come first serve basis. Examination filing dates are posted 10 days prior to the scheduling dates. We recommend you monitor the examination bulletin periodically for updates.
The first step in getting a job with the State of California is passing an examination. Review the examination bulletin for the job description to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications to participate in the examination, and obtain written examination information. Examinations are required to obtain eligibility for job vacancies.
NEW Prequalification Process Starting February 13, 2015
Applicants have the option of completing the prequalification process in advance or during the self-schedule date. The prequalify process minimizes the amount of time an applicant may spend responding to a series of qualification questions on the self-schedule date.
