Dear State Employees,

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the recent wildfires, including State employees directly impacted and those involved in fire response and recovery efforts. We understand this is a challenging time and want to remind you of the 24-hour support available through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

EAP services are available to State employees, as well as community members who may not be covered by State employee benefits, such as extended family members, neighbors, and friends. A 24-hour hotline has been set up to provide free, confidential counseling services to help cope with the emotional and psychological effect of the wildfires. The hotline also offers guidance on local community-based resources. You can reach the EAP hotline at 1-866-327-4762.

We have also created a benefits resources webpage for information about benefits and services available during wildfires and other natural disasters. This webpage includes:

  • EAP and wellness resources
  • Customer service information for health, dental, vision, and other benefits
  • Emergency services offered by benefit providers
  • Additional resources to support employees and their families affected by the fires, as well as those working in fire response and recovery

Please bookmark the benefits resources webpage and check it regularly for updates, as we will continue to add new information about state employee benefits as it becomes available.

For questions about your benefits, please contact your department’s HR Office. For help contacting EAP or general benefits resources, please email benefitsinquiries@calhr.ca.gov for assistance.

Please take care, stay safe, and know our thoughts are with you, your families and fire responders.
