If you do not wish to make changes to your current benefits with the exception of the FlexElect Reimbursement Accounts, no action is required from you unless you are a permanent-intermittent employee. Permanent-intermittent employees who want to continue receiving the cash option must re-enroll annually, during Open Enrollment.*
Enrollments and changes must be submitted no later than October 16, 2020. If forms are sent by mail they must be postmarked no later than October 16, 2020. Enrollments and changes made during Open Enrollment are effective January 1, 2021.

The Benefits Calculator on CalHR's website allows you to compare premiums for health, dental, and vision benefits. Simply select a year, your bargaining unit, and number of dependents. You will then be able to compare your benefits options, as well as populate a dental plan form. The employer contributions are determined using the weighted average of a single-party premium of the top four health plans that had the largest active state civil service enrollment during the previous benefit year, which has resulted in the 2021 employer contributions being decreased for all state active employees.
