Writing Excellent Letters, Memos, and E-mails


Most everyone suffers from some form of “business writing blues” or writer’s block, while others take too long to make a point. Participants in this practical course will increase their ability to write letters, memos, and e-mails in a persuasive and concise manner that build credibility. The individual and team activities will stimulate interest and reinforce key concepts that participants can apply right away.


Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Write better letters, memos, and e-mails
  • Organize for impact
  • Reduce unnecessary/bureaucratic words for plain, straightforward communication
  • Choose an appropriate format and appearance
  • Apply a consistent, professional style and method
  • Check the four “musts” before clicking “send”
  • Apply e-mail etiquette and acceptable tone and word usage

This course is for employees who feel their writing skills need improvement, those who have been counseled to improve their writing skills, and/or those who wish to gauge their need for more formal writing training or education.
