Job Analysis


Job analysis is the foundation for many of the critical personnel decisions within an organization, and is the basis for content valid employee selection procedures. This two day class focuses on job analysis methods involving the identification of critical tasks and associated knowledge, skills abilities and personal characteristics (KSAPCs). Modules include legal implications, job audits and observations, writing effective task and KSAPC statements, survey construction and administration, data analysis, and setting appropriate cutoffs.


Upon successful completion of this class, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the legal implications of job analysis as it applies to selection
  • Define the necessary steps to complete a job analysis project
  • Describe the processes for effectively collecting job related information
  • Develop appropriate task and KSAPC statements
  • Describe the procedures for developing job analysis surveys
  • Analyze and interpret job analysis data
