Overview

Presented by CalHR Legal Division House Counsel: This four-hour class walks participants through the unemployment appeal process beginning with the initial appeal for unemployment by the employee through the hearing before the CUIAB.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identity the requirements to receive unemployment benefits
  • Identify the disqualifications to receive unemployment benefits.
  • Learn how to successfully prepare and present a defense to an employee's claim and/or appeal for unemployment benefits.

Intended Audience

State employees who are charged with receiving, processing, and representing departments on employees' claims for unemployment benefits.
