The Benefits Administration Training Class is designed to assist all staff responsible for providing state employee benefits information. The class provides an overview of 21 benefit programs utilizing charts, Power Point, forms and sample situations. It's an invaluable resource for staff responsible for administering benefits.
Understand the employee benefit package, including health, dental, vision, retiree vision, CoBen, FlexElect reimbursement accounts, health and dental cash options, Savings Plus 401(k) and 457 plans, worker's compensation, EAP, Group Legal, Pre-Tax Parking, Merit Awards, and COBRA.
No cost. However, you must go through your department's training request process to obtain the necessary approvals to attend class on State time, and if you do not show up for class or send a substitute, you will be charged a “no-show” fee of $420 (unless you are attending the webcast session, where there is no ‘no-show” fee). Please notify the Benefits Administration Training Coordinator, Penny Jones (Penny.Jones@calhr.ca.gov) at least two weeks before the training if you're unable to attend the class you registered for or if you have need of a special accommodation request.
