The Benefits Administration Training Class is designed to assist staff responsible for administering state employee benefits. The class provides an overview of numerous benefit programs through scenario based classroom training.
Participants will learn and understand the fundamentals of health, dental, vision, retiree vision, CoBen, FlexElect reimbursement accounts, health and dental cash options, common carrier insurance, group term life insurance, long-term disability, retirement processing, and COBRA.
Upon completion of the class, participants will be able to:
No cost. However, you must go through your department's training request process to obtain the necessary approvals to attend class on State time. If you do not attend class or send a substitute, you will be charged a “no-show” fee of $310. However, there is no “no show” for webcast training. Please notify the Benefits Administration Training Coordinator, Penny Jones (Penny.Jones@calhr.ca.gov) at least two weeks before the scheduled training if you are not able to attend the class you registered for or if you need a special accommodation.
