Overview

This one-day class reviews the precedential decisions issued by the State Personnel Board (SPB). The SPB Administrative Law Judges are bound to follow these decisions in issuing their proposed decisions following evidentiary hearings. The precedential decisions cover such topics as notice of adverse action, Skelly rights, legal causes for discipline, defenses to adverse action, evidentiary issues, back pay issues, rejections during probation, disciplinary transfers, non-punitive terminations, termination of limited-term appointments, medical terminations, settlement agreements, drug testing, attendance, violence/threats in the workplace, alcoholism and free speech..

Objective
