This one-day course introduces a variety of methods and techniques used to assess Training and Experience (T&E). Advantages and disadvantages of T&E evaluation methods will be discussed as well as issues related to reliability, validity, development, and scoring.

Objective

Participants will gain a foundation in the principles and techniques used to develop legally defensible T&E evaluations. Upon successful completion of this class, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the appropriate uses of T&Es
  • Define the different methods used to evaluate training and experience
  • Develop scoring criteria (e.g., benchmarks, rating scales) for various types of T&Es
  • Set a passing score for different types of T&Es
  • Recognize administration issues concerning the various types of T&Es

Personnel analysts, managers, or individuals responsible for the development of employment testing and selection programs.
