80 Hour Supervisory Series - Mod IV of IV (2 days)

The upcoming offerings will be the last offering of the 80 Hour Supervisory Series Module I – IV. Please do not start this series unless you are able to fully complete the four offerings.

Overview

Originally titled "Supervisory Skills Module 4: Application and Enhancement of Supervisory Skills", is the last module of the 80 Hour Supervisory Series. This series is designed to promote and cement the application of the skills learned and practiced in the previous sessions. In these final two days, supervisors discuss using their time to maximum effect, using meetings to accomplish results rather than generate activities, and leading remotely-located teams. Finally, supervisors will spend time drafting and finalizing an action or application plan for implementing their newly found skills to build high performing teams and departments.

Please note, 80 Hour Supervisory Series Mod I - III may be taken in any order. The 80 Hour Supervisory Series Mod IV must be the final course taken in the series.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Develop time management techniques
  • Enact facilitation skills
  • Review the human side of change
  • Acquire off-site supervision guidelines
  • Develop action planning skills

Intended Audience

This class is intended for newly appointed supervisors and for those supervisors who desire to take refresher training. This course satisfies part of the requirements California Government Code Section 19995.4(b) for new supervisor training.
