This workshop will identify significant labor relations topics that are currently trending and provide a facilitated discussion regarding impact on and responses or actions needed from departments within the state.
Stephen Booth has been a labor relations officer at the California Department of Human Resources since 2011. He was a labor relations specialist at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in 2010, staff consultant and hearing specialist in private practice from 2002 to 2010, and staff and labor relations manager at Fremont Rideout Health Group from 2007 to 2010. Mr. Booth was assistant director and director of the public employee divisions for Operating Engineers, Local 3 from 1996 to 2002, labor relations analyst and specialist at the California Department of Transportation from 1988 to 1995, business representative for Stationary Engineers, Local 39 from 1983 to 1988, and business manager for the Yolo County Government Employees Association from 1980 to 1983.
