Employee Engagement: California's First Statewide Survey
How are you going to know what your employees think unless you ask them? The Government Operations Agency, working with CalHR, is launching the state’s first statewide employee engagement survey. Why employee engagement, not employee satisfaction? The questions, the sample strategy, the roll out; its part art, part science. We will discuss why we are doing it and what we hope to get out of it.
Stuart Drown is currently the Deputy Secretary for Innovation and Accountability for the Government Operations Agency. Prior to this, Mr. Drown was executive director of the Little Hoover Commission for more than seven years. Before joining government, Mr. Drown was city editor of the Sacramento Bee. His two-decade newspaper career included stints as business editor, labor writer, and metro reporter at various daily newspapers. Mr. Drown has a Master’s degree in public policy and a Bachelor degree in economics from UC Berkeley.
